William Oscar "Bill" Eddins Sr., 77, of Coden, Alabama, passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 28, 2025. Born on August 18, 1948, Bill lived a full and loving life rooted in family, faith, and hard work.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Bonnie Eddins; his brothers, Donald and Jack Eddins; and the love of his life, his wife of 48 years, Donna Eddins. His family takes comfort in knowing Bill and Donna are now joyfully reunited in Heaven.
Bill is survived by his children, Jeremy Eddins, Leah Jones (Michael), and William Eddins Jr. (Stephany); his grandchildren, Katie, Hailey (Cole), Farrah (Nick), Nicholas, Hunter, and William III; and his great-grandchildren, Hudson and a little one on the way, Hollin. He is also survived by his sister, JoAnn Weller (Walter), his brother, Neal Eddins, and many other beloved friends and family members.
In addition to the people he cherished, Bill leaves behind his faithful dog, Brownie, who was always by his side.
Bill was known for his sharp wit, quick one-liners, and sarcastic humor that could make anyone laugh. He loved to joke around, lighten the mood, and bring smiles to the people he cared about. One of the greatest joys of his later years was working alongside his son Will every day, a routine that brought him purpose, laughter, and companionship. He also enjoyed cheering on the Dallas Cowboys and Auburn Tigers, watching old Westerns, and spending time with his family.
Bill's faith was strong and unwavering, and he lived it boldly, trusting in God's grace, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast."(Ephesians 2:8-9, KJV) His family rests in the assurance that his salvation was secure and he is now in the presence of the Lord.
