William Erlewine Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Freeman Funeral Home Inc on Feb. 13, 2025.
William H. "Bill" Erlewine, 77 of Crooked Creek, WV departed this life peacefully at his home on Monday, February 10, 2025.
Born on September 21, 1947, in Cherry Tree, Logan, West Virginia, he was the beloved son of the late George and Thelma Erlewine.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Rose; sister, Patty and brother-in-law, Murl Adkins.
Bill was a United States Army veteran, serving under NATO in Europe during the Vietnam War. He prided himself on building sets and even a small clip in the film "The Green Berets" starring John Wayne. Following his military service, Bill worked in the coal mines of southern WV, functioning as a Superintendent for Belva Coal Company until they closed in 1984. That's when he and his wife of 41 years, Rose Yeager Erlewine founded Unique Kitchens & Baths. His hard work and devotion to his family left a lasting legacy, continued today by his son, Chris, and wife, Heather. Bill loved spending his days on the golf course with his golfing buddies, he enjoyed his bowling league, a hot cup of black coffee year-round, spending time with his loved ones and his faithful, furry companion Sophie.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Angel (Rob) Hart of Charleston, WV, Steve (Brandi) Osburn of Hurricane, WV, Meloney (Greg) McRoberts of Chapmanville, WV, Billie (Ryan) Copley of Weston, WV, and Chris (Heather) Erlewine of Logan, WV; sister, Barbara (Leon) Hamblin of Christiansburg Va; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; his furry companion Sophie, and many dear friends and extended family members.
Services will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Freeman Funeral Home with Minister Tim Secrist officiating. Entombment will follow at 169 Forest Lawn Cemetery Rd, Pecks Mill, WV.
Visitation will be on Saturday, February 15, 2025, from 11:00am to 1:00pm at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Hayden Hart, Caiden Erlewine, William (Mikey) Holcombe, Nathan Copley, Brett Pennington and Thomas White.
Honorary Pallbearer Mason McRoberts.
