Barbara Collins Erlewine, born October 17, 1939, in St. Louis, MO, peacefully passed away at home in Wilmington, NC, on October 8, 2025, just shy of her 86th birthday. She lived a life filled with love, wisdom, and an unwavering dedication to her family.

Barbara pursued a successful career in administration within the banking industry, where her meticulous nature and steadfast commitment contributed greatly to her workplace. Beyond her professional accomplishments, she was renowned for the warmth of her home and her heart.

Throughout her life, Barbara was anchored by her faith as a member of her Christian congregation. She was also enveloped by the love of her large, close-knit family, who were central to her very being.

Barbara is remembered fondly for the radiant joy she found in spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, often surrounded by them as they shared in her many interests. Affectionately called "Kitty Kitty Grandma," she had a special affection for her feline friends. Her passion for reading, tending to plants, and the camaraderie of card games like Bridge and Bunco with neighbors brought her immense joy. She was an avid bowler and a lover of films, always eager to entertain and engage with those around her.

Christmas time was especially whimsical with Barbara, as her kitchen transformed into a haven of sweet aromas and delectable treats. Her cookies, made with love and tradition, were cherished by all who had the pleasure of enjoying them.

Possessing a serious demeanor that was beautifully balanced by her warm grin, Barbara left a mark on everyone who knew her. Her strong presence and tender spirit provided a heartfelt example of life's beauty and potential.

Preceded in death by her parents, siblings, her devoted husband, Ralph Erlewine, and son Stephen Erlewine; she is survived by her other beloved sons, Dennis (along with his wife Diane) and Chris Erlewine; her treasured grandchildren, Melissa Batts (along with her husband Adam), Kristen Thacker, and Jeremy Erlewine; and her precious great-grandchildren, Gerald, Angel, Joshua, Blake, Emily, Allie, Grady, Nolan, Jonah, Joel, and Hazel.

A service to honor and celebrate Barbara's life will be held on Sunday, October 12th, at Oak Valley Church located at 2730 Northchase Pkwy W, Wilmington, NC 28405 at 3:00 PM. Family and friends are warmly invited to join in remembrance of a woman whose legacy of love will endure in the hearts of all she touched.
