March 3, 1952, in Minden, LA, to Floyd and Sybil Ferguson.

Buddy will be lovingly remembered by his sister, Bonnie Johnson; his niece, Teresa Ward and her husband, D. Lynn; his nephew, Todd Johnson; and many great nieces

and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd James Ferguson; his mother, Sybil Ferguson Coons; his stepfather, William Herman Coons; and his brother,

Larry James Ferguson.

A quintessential jokester, Buddy enjoyed making people laugh and was always the first to suggest playing a game of cards during family gatherings. His ability to craft a project was unmatched. His hands were rarely still, always working on a ceramic piece or making jewelry with the perfect stone. If he drew your name at Christmas, you knew you were going to get the greatest, most unique gift. As a rock hound, Buddy's enthusiasm for geology was more than a hobby; it was a passion that led him to explore the natural world with fervor, adding depth to his already extensive knowledge.
