William Frederick Feus, 58, of Fort Mill, South Carolina, went home to be with the Lord on April 29, 2024 after suffering a heart attack.
William (Bill) was born on August 11, 1965 to Frederick and Gloria Feus in Englewood, New Jersey. After Bill graduated from West Windsor-Plainsboro High School in 1983, he went on to do a post graduate year at Blair Academy in Blairstown, New Jersey. Following in his dad's footsteps, Bill attended Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Ultimately, his Bachelor of Arts degree was completed in 1992 at The New School in New York City while working full time as a paralegal.
After graduating with a degree in Politics, Bill started his first career at AG Edwards working as a financial advisor with his dad, Frederick. Bill loved working with his father and the time they spent together was something he treasured. He loved and respected his dad. Fred was the rock of our family and when he passed Bill compassionately filled the role.
In the mid 90's God made himself known to Bill in a very real way. His presence gave Bill a passion and a zeal for life he had never experienced before. He wanted to share this wonderful gift and felt God calling him to ministry. In 2001 with the support of his family and St Bartholomew's Church in Ho-Ho-Kus, New Jersey Bill went on to pursue his Master's of Divinity at the General Theological Seminary in New York City. He graduated in 2004. Following graduation he faithfully served at St. Georges by the River in Rumson, NJ, St Bernards in Bernardsville, NJ and St. Marks in Chester, SC.
Coming from a financial background, Bill knew the struggles Christian's face with how to best use the resources God has given us. In 2016 he joined Thrivent Financial Services and then in 2019 founded Gray Rock Financial Planning and Consulting. Bill was a fiduciary financial advisor specializing in college education planning, retirement planning, retirement income distribution and management, and long-term care planning. As a Christian financial advisor and ordained minister, he worked with his clients helping them align their financial plans and investments with their faith and, prayerfully, in ways that glorify God.
In 1986, Bill met his wife Kim in Princeton, New Jersey. After dating for four years, Bill and Kim married in 1990 and went on to have two children, Sarah and William. At Bill and Kim's wedding, one of the scripture readings was 1 Cor. 13-4-8. Although commonly used for weddings, Bill would say it is a verse for life. "Love is patient, love is kind, It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not rejoice in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails." This is how Bill loved his family. He was the best son, husband, father, uncle and brother anyone could ever have.
William was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Gloria. He is survived by his wife Kim, daughter Sarah, son William, sister Karen Feus Bolling and her husband Michael Bolling, nephew Cole Weintraub, nieces Grace and Mackenzie Bolling, cousins Eric Feus and wife Heather, David Feus and wife Renata, Jason Feus and wife Jessica, Anna Li and her husband Frank Sposato.
Services will be held at Carmel Baptist Church on Saturday, May 4 at 10am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Bill's memory to be made to Carmel Baptist Church (1145 Pineville Matthews Rd, Matthews, NC 28105), our Christian family that has supported us in the most unimaginable of circumstances.
