William D. Foresman

William D. Foresman 91, of Spruce Run Rd., Lewisburg passed away peacefully on September 16, 2025 at Watsontown Nursing and Rehab Center, surrounded by family. Born in New Columbia on January 16, 1934, he was the son of the late Bruce and Isabel (Wolfinger) Foresman. He was married to the former Gloria Badger until her passing in 1987 and then was married in 2004 to the former Janet Derr who survives.
William was a 1951 graduate of Milton High School. He worked for the Milton School District retiring in 1986 as the Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds. He played in the West Branch Baseball League when games were held on the island in Milton and later he was an infielder for Ickey's softball team in Milton. He was a skilled woodworker. William liked fishing most notably during family trips to Canada each year. He enjoyed card games with friends and board games and puzzles with family. In 1962 he joined Goodlander's Hunting Club in White Deer where in 2025 he was honored as a lifetime member.
He is survived by his wife, Janet; a son, Dr. James B. Foresman and wife, Lisa of York; two stepchildren, Christina J. Appleman and husband, Greggory of Bloomsburg, and Mark A. DeLong and wife, Samantha of Potts Grove; a granddaughter, Grace M. Foresman; a step grandson, Zachary A. DeLong; a niece, Jani Hall; and two nephews, Jeffrey and Joseph Wilt.
William was preceded in death by his first wife, Gloria; and two sisters, Joanne Pick, and Judith Wilt.
Graveside services will be held privately.
