William Lee Freeman, age 79, of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away on December 6, 2023. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia on September 4, 1944, son of the late James W. Freeman, Jr. and the late Clara Lee Crowe Freeman. He was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Douglasville, Georgia.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years: Evelyn Hendrix Freeman; children: Ronald D. Freeman, Linda M. Welch and husband Danny, John Michael Freeman and wife Leisa, Renee M. Key and husband Chet; grandchildren: Brigette, Elizabeth, Hallie, Madeleine, Olivia, Ethan, Jordan, Sydney, Logan, Colton; 8 great-grandchildren; brother: Virgil Freeman, Dean Freeman, Wayne Freeman, Darryl Freeman, Earl Freeman; sister: Paula Freeman, Nesha White, Hellan Freeman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son: William Freeman, sisters Sheilah Elmore, Jenny Hopwood and Tina Freeman.
The family will receive friends at Grace Presbyterian Church, 5000 Stewart Mill Rd, Douglasville GA on Friday, December 8, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
The funeral service will follow in the Chapel of Grace Presbyterian Church at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend John Sutton and Revered Dr. David Gilbert officiating. Thomas Cannon, Earl Freeman, Jeff Freeman, Dale Freeman, Eddie Hopwood and Charles Hopwood will serve as pallbearers.
Interment will be at 2:00 p.m. at Riverview Memorial Park.
