William "B.J." James Frizzell Jr., 33, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 13, 2025, after a courageous battle with addiction. He had been sober for the past six months, a testament to his strength and determination. William was born on June 1, 1992, in Honolulu, Hawaii, to William James Frizzell Sr. and Michelle Harris Ramsey.
He was a 2011 graduate of Marion L. Steele High School. Most recently, he was employed as a tow motor driver at Style Crest Inc. in Fremont, Ohio. William was also an experienced and accomplished construction equipment operator-a trade he proudly learned from his grandfather, Thomas Harris (Harris Excavating), after years of working side by side with him. He also worked at his families business, K Cream Korner.
William was a kind-hearted, generous, loving, and goofy soul, known for always being there for anyone in need. He cherished time with his family and friends and loved most being a father. He adored his daughter, Gwendolyn, and was the ultimate "girl dad," never hesitating to let his girls paint his nails or decorate his long, beautiful hair with clips. His love extended to his bonus daughters, Alesana and Lydia, with whom he shared countless fun and loving moments.
He enjoyed riding dirt bikes, racing go-karts, playing laser tag, and more recently, found joy in racquetball and swimming at the Fremont YMCA. Whether at the lake, the playground, or simply spending time together, William's presence was a gift to those who loved him.
He is survived by his daughter, Gwendolyn Frizzell; his partner, Kara Yeager; bonus daughters, Alesana and Lydia; mother and stepfather, Michelle (née Harris) and Joseph Ramsey; father and stepmother, William and Laura Frizzell Sr.; siblings, Victoria (Dylan) Jahnsz, Brandon, Logan, and Jadeyn Ramsey, and Hunter and Zachary Frizzell; grandparents, Thomas and Patricia Harris, James (Sandra) Frizzell, Jacalyn Stevens, and Robert and Theresa Trace.; aunt, Pamela (Clarence) Palos; uncles, Thomas R. (Brittany) Harris Jr. and Richard S. (Helen) Ramsey; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Alexander "Alex" M. Jahnsz, in 2018; and his grandfather, Jack Adams, in 2006.
William's family would like to thank everyone who supported and loved him through his journey. They are especially grateful to the many treatment facilities, doctors, nurses, and staff at Surest Path, Erie County Detox, LCADA, Psych & Psych, and Primary Purpose. While addiction ultimately claimed his life, these organizations gave his family the precious gift of more time with him-time filled with hope, healing, and love.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 11110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 18 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral center.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in William's memory to Surest Path Recovery Center, 825 June Street, Fremont, OH 43420.
