William Gerald Fuoco, Sr. (“Bill”), 95, of Lake Mary, Florida (formerly of Monessen, PA) passed away peacefully at Aviata at Lake Mary on July 14, 2025, with his loving family at his side. He was born on March 21, 1930, in Monongahela, the son of the late Michael and Rose (Dominick) Fuoco. Bill graduated in 1948 from Monessen High School where he fell in love with the Head Majorette of the Monessen Greyhound Marching Band, Martha Lucas. They were married in the former St. Cajetan Roman Catholic Church on April 23, 1955 and recently celebrated their 70th anniversary. As a young man, Bill learned to work hard and to take on whatever job was available to support himself and his family. Bill made home deliveries for Beery’s Food Store, he was owner of Bill’s Amoco Service Station, proprietor of Bill’s Cabins in Monongahela and laborer at Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel. During the many times he was laid off from the mill, Bill distributed soda for Coca-Cola Co.; delivered packages for United Parcel Service; and was hired by Combustion Engineering to work in the foundry. When Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel called Bill back to work, there was a period of time when he worked eight hour shifts for both mills every day. He ultimately left Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel and continued working with Combustion Engineering as a forklift driver. Bill was a “Union Man” and served in various capacities for United Steelworkers Local 1229 and as President of United Steelworkers Local 210. He was also the Democratic Committeeman for the Park Plan and a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 954, for many, many years. Bill and “Mart” moved to Florida in 1990 to manage condominiums in Fort Lauderdale and Delray Beach. They joined a group of friends in 1997 to start the Order of Sons of Italy Lodge 2719 of Delray Beach from the ground up where Bill was elected President of the lodge. They “officially” retired in 2015 to Orange City and continued their membership with the Order of Sons of Italy Lodge 2441 where Bill was elected Vice-President. They eventually moved to Sanford FL to be cared for by their daughter Cindee and son-in-law Joe. In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his wife, Martha Lucas Fuoco, his son Robert (Angela); brothers, Albert (Marie) and Frank (Bea) Fuoco; and sisters, Pearl (John) Schmoker (twin), Frances (Paul) Hazen, Alice (Etlo) Romito and Louise (Lawrence) DelRosso; niece, Paula Hazen and nephew, Michael Fuoco. Bill is survived by his daughter, Cindee (Joe) Michniewicz, Sanford, FL; sons Bill (Annette), Imperial, PA, and Richard (Vicki), Batesville, MS; daughter-in-law Angela, Monessen, PA; six grandchildren: Joshua (Jennifer), Jason (Connie), Andrew (Jenavieve) and Joseph (Kristin) Fuoco, Brian Kendall and Brad Kendall; and ten great-grandchildren: Caleb, Eli and Leah Fuoco, Henry and Oliver Fuoco, Draven and Rowan Kendall, and Miles, Mackenzie and Marcus Kendall. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Special thanks to the wonderful doctors, nurses, CNAs and staff at Aviata of Lake Mary and Vitas Hospice. Family and Friends will be received from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 1, 2025 at Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services., 441 Reed Ave., Monessen. Services will be held Saturday, August 2, 2025, beginning in the funeral home with a blessing service at 9:30 a.m., followed by a 10 a.m. Mass at the Epiphany of our Lord Church.
