William Harold Furman

William (Bill) Furman, a loving and devoted husband, father, papa and brother passed away at home with his loving family by his side Thursday, February 18 after a short fight with cancer. Bill was born on June 5, 1956 in Rockford to the late Elaine and Millard Furman. Bill is survived by his wife Susan (Summers) Furman, 3 children Chris Furman (Jordan Atienza), Luke (Mae Pemberton) Furman and Ashley (Sonny) Landrum, 3 grandchildren Michael Cecil, Echo Cecil and (soon to arrive) Eleanor Furman, three brothers Robert (Pam) Furman, Richard Furman, and Tom (Sharon) Furman and three sisters Laura Pasley, Kathy (Ronnie) Wilhelms and Sharon (Roger) Duncan. He is also survived by his mother-in-law and father-in-law Audrey and Jimmie Summers and sisters-in-law Mary Summers and Debbie (Kevin) Howard.
Bill will be remembered for his selflessness, reliability, dry sense of humor, and his honesty. He cared more about others than he cared about himself. His favorite pastime was spending time with family. Per the grandkids, he's the best pancake maker ever.
He retired from DelMonte Foods December 2018 after 43 years of dedicated service. When not working he enjoyed coaching his children's sports, biking, doing projects around his house, playing games, and watching Cubs games (Go Cubs!).
Visitation will be held at Beverage-Lyon Family Funeral Home, 704 N 6th St., Rochelle on February 22, 2021 at 10:00 with services to follow at 11:00.
