William Harold Gibson, 96, of Masontown, WV, passed away Saturday, September 27, 2025, at home surrounded by his family.

He was born on November 1, 1928, in Hudson, WV, a son of the late Asbury Howard Gibson and Irene Margaret (Keefover) Gibson.

Harold proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for six years. He served in World War II as Staff Sargent of the 60th Communications Squadron at Rhein-Main Air Base in Germany. He worked at C and P telephone for 37 years as the central office repairman. Harold was a member of the First Baptist Church in Masontown, where he faithfully served as Deacon, Sunday School teacher, and superintendent. A man of many talents and creative passions, he enjoyed photography, painting, and woodcarving. Harold was known for his many inventions. He also gave generously of his time as a Cub Scout Master, guiding and mentoring young minds.

He is survived by three sons, Paul Gibson, Joe Gibson and wife, Tracy, and Tim Gibson and wife, Kayla; one daughter, Anna Corwin and husband Scott; 13 grandchildren, Missy, Jason, Matt, Brian, D.J., Marian, Hannah, Elizabeth, Debbie, Rebecca, Shanna, Kristin, and Lucas; 21 great grandchildren; sister, Vita McCord, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Harold is preceded in death by his loving wife, Marian Anna (Bolyard) Gibson in 1988, two brothers, Gordon Gibson and Dennis Gibson; three sisters, Juanita Moran, Janet Gamble, and Virginia Taylor, and daughter-in-law, Wilma Gibson.

To honor his wishes, there will be no public services. The Field Funeral Home in Masontown, WV, will provide compassionate and professional cremation services.
