Travis Graves departed his body on August 29, 2023 in St. Augustine Florida, a town he loved
and felt a deep connection to for many years. His death was swift and gut-wrenching for all
who knew and loved him.
Travis was born in Alexandria, VA to his parents Ellen Williams Sugarman of Flat Rock NC and
William Frederick Graves, Jr. of Franklinton, NC. Always a creative, free spirit his life was about
showing up for others in an open-hearted caring way. He is being remembered for his two
loves, skateboarding and music. A Pro Skateboarder until his body would no longer allow him
to compete, he turned to writing and performing music under the moniker Mt. Egypt. He
released 3 albums as Mt. Egypt. His music is being played today by those who knew him and
those who wished they had.
A Memorial celebration is being planned for November 25th in Malibu, CA. He leaves behind
his mother and father, his beloved grandmother, Derry Williams of Flat Rock NC, uncles
Duncan Williams of Pie Town NM, Mark Williams of PeWee Valley, KY and Roger Sugarman of
Lexington, KY; aunts Amy Williams of Newark, OH, Tracey Williams of PeWee Valley, KY and
Lynsey Sugarman of Lexington KY, cousins Josh Williams of Chichester, UK; Chris Maguire and
his wife Lauren of Los Angeles, CA, Drew Sugarman and his wife Ali of Black Hawk, CO, Blake
Sugarman of Oakland, CA, Sarah Maguire Marston and her family, husband Rob Marston and
and their children Leo and Aurelia of St. Augustine Florida, Fiona Williams of PeWee Valley, KY,
cousin Rose Witschi of Olympia, WA and countless friends and fans.
His mother is requesting that donations be made in his name to San Francisco Skate Club,
