William Hamell Obituary

Published by Legacy on Mar. 13, 2025.
William "Billy" Hamell, of Taylorville, IL was born July 12, 1962, and passed away March 11, 2025
"Time is like a river. You cannot touch the same water twice, because the flow that has passed will never pass again. Enjoy every moment in your life." Billy admired this quote and if you knew Billy, you know he did just that. He lived his life and enjoyed every moment and person in it. His big, kind heart prevailed his tough exterior. His trade and laborer skills will be remembered and appreciated by all those who had a chance to experience his craftsmanship. There was never a task or a job he couldn't accomplish, especially when it was one that involved his family. Family meant everything to Billy. They came first in everything he did. Husband, father, papa. All names he was proud to have. We will all enjoy every moment and memory with our lone wolf as they pass through us in our time to come, just like a river flows.
Billy is survived by his wife, Lisa Price-Hamell of Taylorville, Ill. His children Riley Hamell of Taylorville, Ill., Jake Hamell of Taylorville, Ill., Lauren (Jared) Herrmann of St Louis MO, and Ryan (Jenna) Price of Grand Rapids Michigan. His grandsons, Brooks Price, Aiden Herrmann, and Asher Herrmann. His Brothers Randy (Penny) Hamell of Taylorville, Ill., and Kevin (Angie) Hamell of Taylorville, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Hamell, mother, Patricia Hamell, and Sister, Cathy Brockelsby.
A celebration of Billy's life will be held at the Pillars in Taylorville, Ill., 303 East Market Street from 5-8 p.m. March 20, 2025.
