William Hamilton Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Moreland Funeral Home - Westerville on Nov. 21, 2024.
It is with heavy hearts and the utmost respect that we remember William Edward Hamilton, lovingly known to us all as Bill. Born on a warm summer day, July 21, 1931, in Columbus, Ohio, Bill graced this world with his presence for an incredible 93 years until his peaceful passing on November 18, 2024, in Westerville, Ohio.
Bill's life was a tapestry of service, love, and contribution. In his early years, he answered the call to serve his country, joining the Army during the Korean War and earning the rank of Sergeant First Class. His deep-seated love for his country was evident in every facet of his life, a true patriot whose pride never dwindled.
Once back on home soil, Bill embarked on a remarkable journey with his beloved wife, Bonnie. Their love story spanned an extraordinary 70 years of partnership and devotion. Together, they built not only a beautiful family but also a thriving business. Bill founded Hamilton Construction Company, working doggedly for 50 years, crafting blueprints into stunning realitiesa testament to his remarkable work ethic and passion for construction.
A devoted man of faith, Bill was a constant presence at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, where he humbly served as an usher for over six decades. His commitment to his faith and community was unwavering, always greeting churchgoers with a smile and a bit of warmth that brightened their day.
Carrying forward his legacy are his cherished wife, Bonnie; five loving daughters: Teresa Wagner (Paul), Michelle Hamilton, Lisa Doran (David), Deanna Lowder (Dan) and Darla Dillmore (PT), 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and the enduring memory of his parents, William J. Hamilton and Sophia K. Hamilton.
Family was at the heart of everything Bill did, instilling in his children the same positive spirit and strong work ethic that defined him. He believed in the power of kindness, the importance of hard work, and the simple joy of seeing a job well done, values that his family holds dear.
As we celebrate Bill's life and bid him a gentle farewell, we invite friends and family to join us for visitation at 9:30 AM followed by Mass of the Christian Burial at 10:30 on Monday, November 25th at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. We will lay him to rest at Resurrection Cemetery immediately following the service.
In place of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to WARM (https://warmwesterville.org/) or Mount Carmel Hospice (https://donor.mountcarmelfoundation.org/), honoring Bill's spirit of giving. Though Bill is no longer with us in body, his legacy of love, service, and community will forever echo in the hearts of those privileged to know him. May he rest in eternal peace.
