William Hamiter Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Woodridge Memorial Park & Funeral Home - Lexington on Jun. 19, 2024.
William S. Hamiter, who went by the nickname, "Bud," graduated from Spring Valley High School in 1971 and became Spring Valley's first President of the student body.
Later, William began working for the United States Postal Service. He worked there 27 years and was presented a certificate for 27 years of safe driving.
William went to a very large church, and realized that the congregation was no different than others and needed a AA group. He formed the group and it became a huge success.
When William was a young man, he was consumed by muscle cars, boating, skiing and was an avid pool player. At one time, he traveled to three states to play the best in the area.
As William aged, boating became his number one hobby. He also loved to walk trails in the woods and enjoyed capturing the beautiful scenery that God gave to us naturally.
He never forgot his childhood and adult friends, and loved to tell stories about them to make you laugh.
Although William finally found the love of his life who treated him like a king, his life was cut short before marriage. Also, the wedding dress still awaits a promise he could not keep. So when he found his plot, he told her he was going to get married there. He was so happy he found his resting place. He told people in the neighborhood he was getting married there.
He loved to laugh and have others laugh with him.
William was predeceased by his father, John T. Hamiter; his mother, Doris S. Nichols; and his daughter, Bailey Loggins.
His survivors include: his granddaughter, Arie Loggins; siblings, Michael Hamiter, Terry Hamiter and Tracey Hamiter.
Funeral services for Bud Hamiter will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, June 21st, 2024 in the Mausoleum Chapel at Woodridge Memorial Park, 138 Corley Mill Road, Lexington, SC 29072. Burial in Woodridge Memorial Park will follow the service. The family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 20, 2024 at Woodridge Funeral Home.
