William "Bill" Anthony Heim, 74, went to his heavenly home on Wednesday May 22, 2024
surrounded by his family & close friends peacefully. Bill was born on December 27, 1949, to the late Richard and Katherine (Sutton) Heim of Louisville, Kentucky. He retired from Phillip Morris after 30 years of service. For 30 years he played on the Philip Morris softball team from 1969 until the plant was closing in 1999. Bill played on many softball teams during his softball career & at the age of 50 started playing senior softball again with many teams. He was an avid U of K fan. He loved being with family & friends & you knew if he was fixing dinner for you, you would not go away hungry & always enjoy a good cold beer with him but just one. He was a 1968 graduate of Bishop David High School. Bill was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church. He was an amazing husband, father, papaw, poppy.
Preceded in death by his parents, his brother Richard M Heim Jr. and his sister Shirley Lorie and son in law Troy Carter.
Survived by his loving wife Patricia Kaye (Curl) Heim, three daughters Robin Heim Carter, Amy Marcum (Christopher) and Katie Arnold (Jason), four grandchildren Gracye Marcum, Peyton Marcum, Will Arnold and Lily Arnold and a host of family and friends that loved him.
Funeral Mass will be Wednesday May 29, 2024, at 11:00am St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 1925 Lewiston Drive, Louisville, KY with entombment to follow Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be Tuesday May 28, 2024, from 12:00-8:00pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shirley's Way, Notre Dame Academy, Leslie and Rhyan Prather Foundation.
