William Heisler Obituary
February 4, 1943 - May 2, 2025
William Henry Heisler, age 82, of Beaver Dam, passed away on Friday, May 2, 2025, at St. Mary's Hospital, in Madison, with family at his side.
Bill was born on February 4, 1943, the son of William and Florence (Prescott-Jacobs) Heisler. As Bill would tell it, he was born at Hahnemann Hospital in Philadelphia, PA, at 7:30 on a cold and rainy Thursday evening.
Bill met Linda Gividen in college. They were married on July 20, 1968. At an early age, Bill felt called to the ministry. After graduating Bible College and Seminary, he pastored churches in Coral, Michigan; Indianapolis, Indiana; La Crosse and Cambria, Wisconsin. He also worked for the Wisconsin Department of Health Services as an investigator for nursing home abuses.
Bill was a man cherished by many for his wonderful sense of humor and his devotion to his faith. He held a deep love for God, his family, his friends, and his church community. Bill was a strong believer in Christ and found joy in sharing his faith with those around him. He was also known for his passion for sports, proudly rooting for the Philadelphia Eagles.
Bill is survived by his wife, Linda Heisler; daughter, Amy Heisler; brother, John (Dana) Heisler; and sister, Florie (Dan) Davis. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Ruth (Norman) Clements.
Gifts in Bill's memory may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Association, PO Box 5042, Hagerstown, MD 21741 or to Shriner's Hospitals for Children, 2900 N. Rocky Point Dr.
Tampa, FL 33607.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at St. Paul's Evangelical Church, N9497 Inglehart Road, Cambria, WI 53923.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at St. Paul's Evangelical Church, with Rev. Dr. Cynthia Bacon Hammer officiating.
