HEMMER, William R., passed away at home surrounded by the love of his family on February 1, 2025 at the age of 85. He was born in Evansville, IN, the son of the late Ronald and Selma (nee Temme) Hemmer, owners of the Hemmer Feed and Seed Company.
A driven and highly professional lifetime sales executive, Bill began his career at Shillito's and later joined Adam Wuest Inc., manufacturer of the Serta mattress brand, where he served as Senior Vice President out of Cincinnati. On the job, Bill made friends easily; at home, he was a dedicated and beloved father and husband with a keen wit and tender heart. Bill leaves behind 11 grandchildren and six great grandchildren, shaped forever by his selfless presence in their lives.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Georganne (nee Knittle) married for 63 years. Loving father of Tracy (Don) Miehls, W. Andrew (Nancy Reiner) Hemmer, William G. Hemmer, Kris (Jack) Sikora and Ann H. (Brandon) Ryan. Devoted grandfather of Annie (Ben) Gearhart, Alex (Liza) Miehls, Megan (Josh) Kallus, William Grant, Riley Mae and Margo Marie Hemmer, Sarah, Sophie, Lizzy and John Sikora and Jenna Eve Ryan. Beloved great grandfather of George, Max, Matthew, Jonathan, Charlotte and Lily. He is also survived by his sister Mary Lee (Dan) Dozier of Evansville, IN, along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his parents, William is preceded in death by his brothers James Kingsley (Linda) Hemmer of Indianapolis, IN, Thomas (Jane) Hemmer and David John (Kay) Hemmer of Evansville, IN.
Visitation at Meyer Funeral Home, 5864 Bridgetown Rd., WEDNESDAY, February 5, 2025 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Lawrence, 3680 Warsaw Ave, on THURSDAY at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Lawrence Education Fund, 3680 Warsaw Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45205. B.J. Meyer Sons Funeral Home is serving the family.
