Obituary published on Legacy.com by Central Florida Casket Store and Funeral Chapel on Feb. 2, 2026.
William Thomas Hogan, a cherished father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2026, at the age of 68. Born on March 9, 1957, in Chicago, Illinois, William was the beloved son of William and Geraldine Hogan. He grew up in a loving household that instilled in him the values of hard work, compassion, and humor-traits he carried throughout his life.

William's early years were shaped by his adventurous spirit and a commitment to service. He proudly served in the United States Marines from 1976 to 1985, a period during which he developed a deep sense of duty and camaraderie. His military service was a testament to his strength and dedication, qualities that would define him in all aspects of his life.

After his time in the military, William worked at many things having settled at Air Centers of Florida, where he worked for many years and earned the respect of his colleagues for his work ethic and kindness. In addition to his professional accomplishments, he was a published author, penning a book titled "I Will Not Yield," which reflected his resilience and unwavering spirit.

William was a man of many passions. He had a keen eye for photography, capturing the beauty of life through his lens. His love for this art form was matched only by his talent for making others smile. Known for his collection of funny shirts, William had an infectious sense of humor that brightened the days of those around him. He had a way of turning ordinary moments into joyful memories, reminding everyone of the importance of laughter and love.

He leaves behind a family that adored him. William is survived by his two sons, William (Chelsea) Hogan and Adam Hogan, as well as his daughters, Eve Hogan and April Columbus. His legacy continues through his two grandchildren, Adalynn and William Hogan, who brought immense joy to his life. He was also a loving brother to his siblings: Cindy, Kathy, Clark, Albert, Eddie, and Danny.

William was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jonita Ann Hogan, his parents, and his brother, Judd. Their memories lived on in his heart, providing him with strength and comfort throughout his life.

As we remember William Thomas Hogan, we honor his spirit, his love, and the countless lives he touched with his warmth and laughter. His memory will forever remain etched in our hearts as we carry forward the light he brought into the world. He will be laid to rest at Sarasota National Cemetery with military honors at a later date.
