William "David" Holder, age 61, of Normangee, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 15, 2026.
A visitation and service will be held on Monday, January 19, 2026, at the First United Pentecostal Church of Normangee, with Pastor Darrell Clenney officiating. Visitation will commence at 1 PM, followed by the service at 2 PM. A graveside service at Wealthy Cemetery will immediately follow.
Born on March 22, 1964, in Madisonville, Texas, to the late William Lewis "Buddy" and Hazel Holder, David was the youngest of five siblings. Prior to his medical retirement, he worked as a long-haul truck driver for many years and also as a mechanic during his free time. Known for his ability to fix, build, or tear down anything, he was often found "tinkering" with various projects. David loved fishing and hosting fish fries, which earned him the affectionate nickname "Catfish." He was known for his sense of humor and was a beloved figure among family and friends. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
David is preceded in death by his parents William Lewis Holder and Hazel Hutchins Holder, and his aunt "Bootsie" Hutchins, uncle Howard "Bud" Hutchins, aunt May Merryman, uncle Tommy Hutchins, and uncle Cornelius “Sugarman” Hutchins.
He is survived by his children, Amy Koudelka and John David Holder; stepchildren, Hailee and Andrew Lambert; grandchildren, David Holder, Jason Holder, Mollie Holder, and Paisley Holder; step-grandchildren, Clayton Holder, Barrett Lambert, and Cheyenne Dunford. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Bobby and Lillian Holder, Robert and Victoria Holder, Howard and Tammy Holder, and his sister Shirley Ward and her late husband, Luther Ward. Additionally, he leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will include Robert Holder, Howard "Rufus" Holder Jr, Howard Holder Sr., Curtis Hodges, Clinton Manning, and Keith "Hoot" Greer.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Holder Sr, Bobby Holder Jr, Clayton Holder, David Holder, and Jason Holder.
