William Holifield

William E. "Dusty" Holifield, Sr., 71, of Columbia City, passed away on March 18, 2020, at Lutheran Health in Fort Wayne. Born in Detroit, MI, on June 3, 1948, to the late Cloyd and Betty (Harper) Holifield. He spent his formative years in Detroit and Ann Arbor, graduating from Willow Run High School. Dusty served in the United States Marine Corp where he earned a master's degree in Law Enforcement. He retired from the Shiawassee County Sheriff's Department. He loved working on and riding his motorcycles. Dusty is survived by his three daughters, Amy (James) Millikan, Sarah (Brandon) Coco and Bobbie Holifield; a sister, Carol Holifield; a brother, Robert Holifield; seven grandchildren, Ryan, Riley, Mason, Elie, Jase, Cole and Carter. He was preceded in death by his father, Cloyd Holifield; his mother, Betty Pavich; his son, William Holifield, Jr. Burial with Military Rites will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, MI, at a later date.
