It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Command Sergeant Major (Ret) William Doyle Houston Jr., who gracefully left this world into the arms of our Heavenly Father on May 4, 2025 at the age of 73.

Doyle was born on March 28,1952 in Blytheville, Arkansas to William and Betty Houston. He enlisted in the Arkansas National Guard on June 11, 1970, rising to the rank of SGM in 1985, retiring as Command Sergeant Major on September 30, 2011, celebrating 41 years of dedicated service.

He lived a life of integrity and selfless gratitude, forever prioritizing the comforts of others before his own. He greeted loved ones and strangers alike with an infectious, joyful, loving smile that was ever present through his very last days.

Doyle is survived by his wife of 52 years, Kristine “Kris”, son Will (wife Tracy), daughter Tina McClure (husband Bradley), grandchildren Hailey, Clara, Emma, Drake and Annabelle, brother Morris (wife Tonya) and many beloved relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.

A memorial service is being arranged at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock. Date and time will be forthcoming.
