Obituary of William "Bill" Allender Howard
William "Bill" Allender Howard, 57, died peacefully in his sleep on March 18, 2022. Bill was born on February 3, 1965 to John and Ann Allender Howard in Lexington, KY. On August 12, 1988, Bill married his love and partner, Maria. Together they raised three beautiful children, Kathleen, Rebecca, and Will.
Bill was a self-employed painting contractor for most of his adult life and he made many friends along the way. Bill never met a stranger and he frequently surprised people with unexpected kindnesses. His laughter was infectious and he loved to share a great story. Because he was an outside-the-box thinker, Bill had creative insights often missed by others. Bill was a devoted and involved father and he had close and special relationships with all of his children. Bill loved the outdoors, collecting oddities and sharing his finds with others. He was always happiest talking with someone he loved, preferably while stoking the flames around a fire pit.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents John and Ann Howard, brother John Howard, sister Noreen Flora, and father-in-law Michael Kasperbauer. As a devout and lifelong catholic, Bill's faith in God and the promise of life after death has carried him through many of life's struggles. It is now that we take comfort in that same faith that he is being welcomed into heaven by his loving family.
Bill is survived by his wife of 33 years Maria (Kasperbauer) Howard, three children Kathleen, Rebecca, and Will Howard, his siblings Liz Doyle, Katie (Glen) Banks, Maggie Howard, and Tom Howard, nephew Casey Flora and an abundance of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Join us in celebrating and remembering Bill's life on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at Christ the King Cathedral in Lexington, KY. Visitation will begin at 12:30 pm, followed by a 2:00 pm funeral mass and reception. All are welcome.
