William Otto Enniss Hubner

In loving memory of William Otto Enniss Hubner, a devoted family patriarch whose legacy of love and devotion will forever echo in the hearts of those he held dear. William passed away on March 18, 2024, at the age of 82. William was born on April 3, 1941, in Murray, Utah, to Eric and Beth Hubner. 

 He was a pillar of strength, a source of unwavering support, and a beacon of love to his beloved wife and cherished children. He treasured every moment spent with his wife of 52 years, Nancy M Hubner, and their three children. Daughter’s Margaret (Jeffrey) Zdunich, Beth (Jeremy) Garland, and son, Benton (Sheri) Hubner, his twelve grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. William also had two daughters from a previous marriage Debra Lee (Kirk) Christensen and Janna Beth (Dale) Empey. William’s greatest job came from watching his family grow and thrive, and his unconditional love. 

 William is preceded in death by his father Eric Hubner, mother Beth Enniss Hubner, his sisters Donna Hubner Bleazard, and Faye Hubner Hughes. 

 Throughout his life, William was known for his gentle spirit, work ethic, and love for the simple pleasure in life. His passion for fishing, leatherworking, stamp collecting, and yard work brought him immense joy and provided him with moments of tranquility and fulfillment. 

 William’s greatest pride was his yard, which he lovingly tended to with meticulous care and attention to detail. He took joy in cultivating his garden, always redesigning the yard, and nurturing the vibrant irises that had been passed down to him by his beloved mother. 

For 42 years, William served as a dedicated bus driver for the Utah Transit Authority (UTA), where he forged lifelong friendships and touched the lives of countless passengers with his warmth, kindness, and professionalism. He took great pride in his work and was honored with numerous awards and accolades throughout his distinguished career. 

William’s life was marked by a deep commitment to his religious beliefs and a steadfast dedication to serving others and his Savior. Throughout his life, William served in various religious callings. However, it was his most recent calling at the Rocky Mountain Care Center Ward that brought him the greatest fulfillment. William’s legacy of love, service, and faith will forever live on in the hearts of those he touched. 

The family would like to thank the medical providers and staff at Rocky Mountain Hospice for their Care and support in the last week of his life. 

Services for William will be held Saturday, March 30th, at the Granger West 9th Ward at 4460 West Cortney Drive, West Valley City, Utah. A viewing will be held from 11 AM-12:30 PM, and a Funeral Service from 1-2:30 PM. Services will be followed by a 3:00 PM Graveside service at Valley View Memorial Park at 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah. 

Though William may no longer walk among us, his spirit will live on in the cherished memories he created with his family and the love he shared with all who knew him. In his memory, let us honor his legacy by embracing the values he held dear: love, kindness, and family above all else.
