William Francis Xavier Hughes, known affectionately as Wil, cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on August 11, 2024, at the age of 34. Born on October 30, 1989, William's life was defined by his ever-present smile, great spirit, and the love he freely gave and received to those around him.
A 2008 graduate of Unionville High School and a 2012 graduate of Saint Joseph's University, Wil's education was a testament to his intelligence, dedication and passion. His joyful presence and infectious enthusiasm were evident to all who knew him. He had a deep love for spending time with family and friends, particularly in Sea Isle City, NJ, where he found immense joy in skimboarding, fishing, and playing wiffleball. His passion for sports was evident in his unwavering support for the Phillies, Eagles, Sixers, and St. Joe's Hawks, teams he followed with all his heart.
He is survived by his loving parents, Mary Anne (nee Heavey) and Bob Hughes, his sister Beth Anne, and his brothers Bobby (and his wife Carolyn Hughes), Sean, Brian, and Patrick (and his wife Jennifer Stoltz). Wil was a devoted uncle to his nieces Kylie and Molly and his nephews Bobby and Billy. His deep affection for his family was evident in every interaction, and he will be remembered for the special bonds he shared with each of them.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, August 30, 2024, at St. Dorothy's Church, 4910 Township Line Road (corner of Burmont Rd. & Township Line Rd.), Drexel Hill, PA 19026. Friends may call from 9:30 to 10:45 A.M. at the Church. Burial will follow immediately at Ss. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, Pennsylvania.
William's legacy of love, joy, and kindness will endure through the many lives he touched and the cherished memories he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all those close to him.
