William Hunter Sr, age 91 passed away on Sep 19, 2024 in Las Vegas, NV.
William was born in Georgia to E.A. and Lela Mae Hunter. He was a Navy veteran, having served 20 years, achieving the rank of Chief Petty Officer. He worked in the private sector, owning his own business and eventually working at the MGM Grand Hotel and Bally’s Hotel where he retired as Director of Engineering.
William is preceded in death by his wife, Lucretia AKA Pat, and his children Steven and Cathy.
William is survived by his children Patricia Stutes, Carol Gates, and William Hunter Jr, and his grandchildren Jason, Justin, Hunter, Jennifer, and Stephanie.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, October 21, 2024 at Davis Funeral Home with Dr. Brian Borgman of Grace Community Church, Minden, NV officiating. Burial will follow at Palm Eastern Cemetery at 2:00 PM. Arrangements are by Davis Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be William Hunter Jr, Paul Gates, Justin Gates, Hunter Gates.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nursing staff at Dignity Hospital San Martin Campus and the doctors, nurses, and therapists at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital Desert Canyon for their caring professionalism.
