MORENCI-WILLIAM ROBERT HUNTER, Jr., age 81 years, of Morenci, formerly of Westland, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at Hospice of Lenawee, Hospice Home in Adrian. He was born on May 25, 1943, in Highland Park, the son of William Robert and Marie E. (Wells) Hunter, Sr.
After high school William joined the United States Army from 1962-1965. He married Pauline Cecile Breault on May 25, 1968, in Coventry, Rhode Island. They made their home in Westland, before moving to Morenci in 1994. Bill worked at General Motors for 31 years, retiring in 1999.
Bill joined Morenci Bible Fellowship in 2015 and was a very active member and dearly loved the people of MBF. He enjoyed mowing the baseball fields for Morenci Little League for many years, he loved the kids. Bill is survived by many nieces and nephews, special friends, Bradley and Carol Moran and John and Sarah Kaseman. He was preceded by a son, Stephen Rodney Hunter, his parents, two brothers, Gary and Brian Hunter, five sisters, Sharon Hunter, Judith Hunter, Linda Hawkes, Sharon Hawkes and Beatrice Hawkes.
Funeral Services for William will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, March 24, 2025, at the Morenci Bible Fellowship Church in Morenci with Pastors Jim Yatzek and Brad Moran officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the funeral service. Burial will be on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at Noon at the United Memorial Gardens in Plymouth.
Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Lenawee. Friends can express sympathies to the family online by visiting the tribute wall at www.eaglemarryfuneralhome.com. Arrangements have been made with the guidance of the Eagle-Marry Funeral Home, Morenci.
