William Jacobs Obituary

Rev. William Jacobs, 97 of Millville passed away on Friday, January 23, 2026 at Genesis-Millville Center.

Born in Screven, Georgia he was the son of the late Pete Jacobs and Pearl Reddick Jacobs and was the husband of the late Frances Brooks Jacobs and the late Estella Holmes Jacobs.

He had been a Millville resident for 14 years, had lived in Vineland for 10 years and prior to that had resided in Bridgeton most of his life when he moved to the area in his teenage years.

Prior to his retirement, he had been employed in the shipping department at Owens-Illinois Glass Company in Bridgeton for over 35 years. He was a member of Faith Tabernacle Church of Deliverance of the Apostolic Doctrine in Bridgeton. As a Pastor he deeply loved Church and the Ministry. He also enjoyed traveling, especially to Florida.

Surviving are his nine children, Betty Jean Jacobs Welch of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Sharon Jacobs Shider (Larry) of Millville, Linda Jacobs Toppin (Harry) of New Castle, DE, William Jacobs, Jr. (Gwendolyn) of GA, Edward Adams Jacobs of Claymont, DE, Victor Jacobs (Janet) of Blackwood, Corene "Reny" Jacobs Drummond (Robert) of Millville, Dorlene "Lena" Jacobs Beaty (Stanley) of Ohio and Jamere Jacobs; his four siblings, Pearly Mae Clark of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Elizabeth Pennington of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Pete Jacobs, Jr. of Wilmington, DE and Jessie Jacobs of Philadelphia, PA; his stepchildren, Betty Stafford of Bridgeton and Brenda Stafford of MD along with 38 grandchildren and a host of great and great-great grandchildren and other family members.

In addition to his late wives, he was predeceased by two stepsons, Willie Stafford and Henry Stafford and four brothers, Marion, Norris, James and Lovest Jacobs.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 7th at 1:00 PM at Crusaders for Christ Church, 33 Reeves Road, Bridgeton. A visitation will be held at the church from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM prior to the services. Interment will take place at Fordville Memorial Park in Fairfield Township. Arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Upper Deerfield Township.
