Carl Brida Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Perinchief Chapels - Mount Holly on Feb. 4, 2026.
Carl F. Brida passed away peacefully on February 1, 2026 in the arms of his family. He was 88 years old.

Born in Indiana, Pennsylvania, on April 11, 1937, Carl was the son of the late Nellie (Bernini) Brida and Clarence Brida Sr., of Homer City. He is predeceased by his older brother, Clarence Brida Jr. and sister-in-law, Elizabeth "Betty" (Brzana) Brida.

Upon graduating from high school, Carl moved to Bridgeton, New Jersey, which he affectionately called home. He was the beloved husband of the late Barbara Ann (Cessna) Brida, to whom he was married for 57 years.

He is survived by his son John Brida, daughter-in-law Dawn Kinkead-Brida, his grandchildren Brianna and Zachary, and loving extended family. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness and joy.

Dedicated to his work, Carl was employed with the Owens Illinois Glass Factory for over 28 years, until their closure. For an additional 13 years, he worked for the NJ State Inspection Station, where he then retired.

His extraordinary work ethic continued through his retirement years. His garden became his passion, growing vegetables to share with family, friends, and neighbors.

He was a caring, gentle soul.

A special thank you to the wonderful healthcare workers from Bayada Home Care, Serenity Hospice, and Brookdale Echelon Lake for their compassion and dedication.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, March 28, 2026, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at the Perinchief Chapels, 438 High Street, Mount Holly, NJ. The burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, if you so choose, a donation can be made in Carl's memory to the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org) or any charity of your choice.
