Dennis F. Brida

Marion Heights – Dennis F. Brida, 78, of 114 E. Warsaw St., passed away on April 2, 2025, at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
He was born at Shamokin State Hospital on May 4, 1946, the son of the late Edward H. and Bernadice J. (Viscovich) Brida.
Dennis was a graduate of Coal Township High School, class of 1964. He lived in the greater Philadelphia area for a short time. Upon being married, he lived in Shamokin and eventually built their home in Marion Heights, where he's been a resident ever since. At the age of 30, Dennis started his own contracting business, Dennis F. Brida General Contracting.
On August 12, 1972, he married the former Margaret Ann Buchinski at the former Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Kulpmont.
Dennis was a member of the Church of the Holy Angels. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus in Kulpmont, a former trustee of the East End Fire Co. in Kulpmont, a member of the Holy Name Society, and a former Cub Scout Master. He also ran the Old Smokey Steam Train at Knoebels Amusement Park. Dennis was an avid Eagles fan, attending games frequently for the past 36 years with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed building things and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Margaret Ann Brida; a son, Chris Brida and wife, Rachele and two grandsons, Connor and Grayson; a daughter, Danielle (Brida) Heuseveldt and husband, Steve; two brothers, Bernard A. Brida and Daniel W. Brida; and a sister, Edwina B. Carpenter, as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters-in-law, and brothers-in-law. In addition to his parents and parents-in-law, he was preceded in death by three brothers, John J. Brida, Edward A. Brida, and James R. Brida; and a brother-in-law, Dennis McAllister.
Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 8th, at 11 a.m. with Father Andrew Stahmer officiating in the Church of the Holy Angels, 855 Scott St., Kulpmont. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Visitation will be held in the Church on Tuesday, April 8th, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Arrangements are in care of C. J.
