Henrietta M. Visintainer

Henrietta M. (Staskiel) Visintainer, 98, of Kulpmont, passed away on March 1, 2026, at Mount Carmel Living Community, Mt. Carmel.

Born on July 15, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Emma (Cozmerski) Staskiel.

Henrietta was raised in Atlas and was a graduate of Mount Carmel High School, Class of 1945. She worked as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone Company and later retired from Verizon.

On November 25, 1954, she married the late Albert J. Visintainer Jr. at the former St. Peter's Church in Mt. Carmel, with the late Msgr. Francis Dinkle officiating. After a fire destroyed their home in Atlas, they relocated to Kulpmont.

In 1991, Henrietta and her husband, Albert, had the opportunity to personally meet Pope John Paul II while attending the beatification of Mother Pauline Visintainer in Florianopolis, Brazil. During their visit, Albert received a first-class relic of his cousin, a piece of her finger, presented to him by the superior of her order. They were later invited to attend her canonization in Rome, Italy, on May 19, 2002, where they again had a special audience with Pope John Paul II.

Henrietta was a member of Divine Redeemer Church in Mt. Carmel and the St. Pauline Foundation in Kulpmont.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews. Henrietta was the last surviving member of her immediate family and was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and twelve siblings.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 6, 2026, at noon with Father Bernard Wamayose, A.J. officiating in the C J Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 27 N. Vine St., Mt. Carmel, PA, C J Lucas IV, Supervisor. Entombment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Elysburg. Viewing will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of the service in the Mount Carmel Funeral Home.
