John Lindenmuth Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by C. J. Lucas Funeral Home, Inc - Mount Carmel on Feb. 16, 2026.
Mount Carmel - John R. "Russ" Lindenmuth, 92, returned to the Lord on February 14, 2026, to be with his wife on Valentine's Day. He was on hospice care for a few days after a long battle with COPD. His family was at his side.

Russ was born in Mount Carmel on July 10, 1933, the son of Russell and Adeline (Timinski) Lindenmuth.

He graduated from Mount Carmel High School. On February 16, 1957, he married Virginia (Battista) in St. Peter's Church. They were married for 57 years when she preceded him in death.

Russ was a veteran of the US Navy, serving in the Submarine Service on the USS Argonaut during the Korean Conflict. He was proud of his military service and was a member of the Williamsport Chapter of the United States Submarine Veterans, the American Legion in Mount Carmel until its closure, and later joined the Millville Chapter, and was a current member of the Mount Carmel VFW.

He was a tough man and a tireless worker who had many occupations during his life. He retired from Wenco Windows.

Russ loved his wife and family. He enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing, camping, and would grow anything the soil would allow him. He was a devoted football fan. Russ was very active in the American Hose Fire Company in his younger years, serving as a firefighter. He helped establish their ambulance services and served as a responder.

Russ is survived by his children, Annette Hagenbuch; John (Kathy) Lindenmuth Jr., Karen (Glenn) Sones, and Karl (Jill) Lindenmuth; four grandchildren, Angela (Michael) Maschuck, Ian Lindenmuth, Courtney (Chris) Kitchen, and Lauren (Colin) Roberts; and great grandchildren, Kaleb and Sophia Maschuck, Claire, Max and Russell Kretzing, and Lucy, Beckett, and Maia Roberts. In addition to his parents and wife, Russ was preceded in death by a brother, William.

He will be sadly missed by his family and all who knew him.

Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, Feb. 20, 2026, at 11 a.m. with Father Martin O. Moran III officiating in Our Lady of Mercy Church, Slabtown. Burial will be held on Friday at 3 p.m. in St. Peter's Cemetery, Mt. Carmel Twp. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2026, from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. in the C J Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 27 N. Vine St., Mt. Carmel, and Friday, Feb. 20, 2026, in Our Lady of Slabtown Church from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
