William "Billy" Jenkins, Jr., a cherished husband, father, brother, and grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home in Appling, GA, on May 9, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on July 10, 1942, in Lexington, Fayette County, Kentucky, Billy was a man of integrity and kindness, whose faith-filled life left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Billy grew up in the heart of Kentucky, where he attended Lafayette High School. His passion for understanding how things worked led him to further his education at the IBEW Technical School, where he dedicated four years to mastering the intricacies of electrical systems. This expertise paved the way for a successful career as an electrician, where he specialized in industrial maintenance. Billy was a valued employee at SRS for 12 years and later at Nutrasweet, where he also served for 12 years in their maintenance department.
In his personal life, Billy was a devoted family man. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Dora Sonora Jenkins, with whom he shared a beautiful life filled with joy and companionship. His legacy continues through his sons, Robert C. Jenkins and wife, Lisa of Shreveport, LA and Thomas R. Jenkins and wife, Rebecca of Covington, GA, who will remember their father as a guiding light and a source of unwavering support. Billy's brother, Clarence Jenkins of Somerset, Kentucky, and his sister, Bonnie Fields of Berea, Kentucky, will hold dear the memories of their childhood and the bond they shared throughout the years. His grandchild, Britt Adams, will carry forward the wisdom and love that Billy imparted, as well as his great grandchildren, Sam and Emma.
For 42 years, Billy was an integral part of the Leah Community, where he was known for his generous spirit and his commitment to his faith. As a member of New Work Baptist Church, he lived his beliefs through service and fellowship, touching the lives of many within the congregation.
As we bid farewell to William "Billy" Jenkins, Jr., we celebrate a life well-lived, marked by dedication, hard work, and an unwavering faith. He was a beacon of light in his community, a steadfast presence in his church, and a loving patriarch in his family. Billy's journey on earth may have come to an end, but his spirit will continue to inspire and guide us.
Funeral Arrangements are incomplete at this time.

Billy is a kind and gentle Christian from Kentucky who we loved and admired in our community and in New Work Baptist Church. On this earth we will miss his wry humor and deep faith in God and his son Jesus Christ until we will enjoy it once again with him in heaven.
