William Doyle Jones, born on August 4, 1955, in Poplarville, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2025, in Lumberton, Mississippi. A man of quiet strength and gentle demeanor, William was known for his unwavering work ethic. Throughout his life, he committed himself entirely to his roles as a hard laborer, never shying away from any challenge—be it at the sawmill or offshore. His dedication to hard work was evident, and he took great pride in the labor he performed.
William was fondly remembered for his kindness and approachability. His laidback personality made him easy to converse with, and he was a source of comfort to many who had the pleasure of knowing him. He greatly enjoyed the simple joys of life, such as caring for animals and maintaining his home, often found tending to his grass or taking great pleasure in raising a variety of creatures, including rabbits, goats, and beloved chihuahuas.
The memories of the times spent together over the years with family and friends will forever be cherished. He leaves behind his brother Floyd Jones, his niece Melissa Jones, and his nephews Floyd Jones Jr. (with Tracy) and Roy Jones (with Brandi). Also mourning his loss is his friend and caregiver, Carolyn Diane Lott, and his beloved puppy, JoJo, who will surely miss his gentle companionship.
William is preceded in death by his parents, Mamie and Roy Jones, as well as his siblings, Earl Jones, Ann Whitfield, and Coy Jones. His legacy of hard work, kindness, and the love he shared with those around him will not be forgotten. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Jones family in their time of need and we ask that you remember them in your thoughts and prayers through the days ahead.
