William Gerard "Bill" Kammer

William "Bill" Gerard Kammer, age 63 of Paris, Illinois passed away at 2:13 AM on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at his home. Bill was born on December 15, 1961 in Lake County, Indiana. He is the son of Eugene Edward Kammer and Laverne Helen (Perosko) Kammer. Bill proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marines. He loved wood working and fixing cars, he could fix anything. He spent 25 years working in construction. Known for his quick wit and sense of humor, Bill was a true jokester. More than anything, he was the kind of person you could always count on, helping anyone whenever they needed. Whether you wanted a laugh, a hug, a listening ear, or a helping hand – our beloved friend would be your man. He would make you laugh so hard you would cry from time to time. Bill was feisty, rambunctious, and so much fun. Though his soul is no longer with us, he will be carried in our thoughts and our hearts. He was a great dad to not only his children, but to many children he didn't make and excellent at being a grandparent. He could fix anything and will be greatly missed. He is also probably making fun of all of you for crying and is calling all of you losers. He is survived by his life partner, Ilene Barrett; his mother, Laverne Helen Kammer; his children: Brianna Ilene Cooper (Matt), Daniel Barrett (Ashley Luy), Vanessa Iglesias, Christopher Barrett (Bridgett), and Michael Kozlowski; his grandchildren: Emily Cooper, Sierra Iglesias, Isabella Iglesias, Mia Iglesias, Bensyn Barret, Daisy Sharp Carson Baugh, Jace Baugh, and Journey Ballard; his siblings: Lynn Rash-Wilczynski (Ed) and James Kammer (Dessie); his nieces and nephews: Kristy Kammer, Melanie Hlista (Bryce), Julia Affinati (Tony), Jimmy Rash (Courtney), Jordan Kammer, Hayden Kammer, and Greyson Kammer; and his great nieces and nephews: Blake, Myles, Vaughn, and Hazel. Bill is preceded in death by his father, Eugene Edward Kammer, and his brother, Eugene Kammer. Services are private. Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
