William Kees Obituary

William Henry Kees, age 89, of Davys Run, departed this life on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at the Community Hospice Care Carter in Ashland. Born on January 24, 1937, in Burnwell, West Virginia, he was the cherished son of the late Raymond and Ursel Gollihue Kees.

Henry was a devoted family man, preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Charlotte Gay Waugh Kees, in 2024. He is also mourned by the angels of his two sons, Steven Kees and William Gregory Kees, as well as his brother, Herman Kees, and his four sisters: June Adkins, Maxine Stone, Ruth Stone, and Ida Mae Triplett.

A proud veteran, Henry served honorably in the United States Army. He was a faithful member of Maranatha Bible Church and spent over 40 years of his life as a crane operator at Mansbach Metal Company, where he was known for his remarkable work ethic. Henry's dedication extended beyond his career; he found joy in hunting, tending to his garden, and nurturing his homestead.

He leaves behind a legacy of love, embodied in his three grandchildren: Steven Bradley Kees II, William James Kees, and Kayla Dawn Masters, along with his loyal dog, Logan. His love will continue through many nieces, nephews, and extended family who will miss him dearly.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 6, 2026, at Malone Funeral Home, led by Bro. Ron Johnson. Henry will be laid to rest in East Carter County Memory Gardens with military honors. Family and friends are invited for visitation on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. and on Friday after 9 a.m. until the service begins.

Pallbearers honored to carry Henry's memory will be William James Kees, Steven Bradley Kees II, Raymond Kees, Josh Kees, Travis LeMaster, and Josh Tackett.

In this time of grief, the family invites you to leave your condolences or share a memory of Henry at www.malonfuneralhome.com. His spirit will be cherished by all who knew him, a testament to a life well-lived in love and service.
