William “Bill” Kelliher, lovingly known as “Grampy,” passed away peacefully on October 8th, 2025, at the age of 92.
Born on September 6th, 1933, Bill lived a full and meaningful life marked by devotion to family, hard work, and countless friendships. On August 1st, 1954, he married the love of his life, Marilyn Kelliher, with whom he shared many cherished years until her passing. Together they raised their son, Michael Kelliher, who also predeceased him.
Bill was a proud and dedicated employee of Alvin Hollis, where he worked for over 50 years. Known for his tireless work ethic and warm personality, he left a lasting impression on colleagues and customers alike.
He was a devoted father-in-law to Carol Martin and a loving grandfather to Jennifer Paul and her husband Steven. His role as “Grampy” brought him immense joy, especially through the lives of his great-granddaughters, Makenna and Liana.
For nearly 20 years, Bill shared his life with his beloved companion, Gail McAndrew. He embraced Gail’s family as his own, including her daughters, Michelle Cunningham (Larry) and Marybeth Martin (Ed), along with their children Tyler, Caden, and Cole; the late Patrice McAndrew Kelly (Greg) and their children Owen, Shane, Alexandra and the late Charlotte.
Bill also shared a special bond with his sister-in-law, Barbra Fratus, whose love and support through the years meant so much to him.
Bill was loved by everyone he met. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother-in-law, and faithful companion. His legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched with his kindness, humor, and unwavering love.
Friends and family are invited for a brief visitation from 830 - 930AM on Wednesday, Oct. 15th, at the C.C. Shepherd Funeral Home located 134 Pleasant St. S. Weymouth, MA 02190. There will be a procession from the funeral home to the funeral Mass, which will be at 10AM at the St. John the Baptist Church located at 44 School St., Quincy, MA 02169. Burial will follow at the St. Francis Xavier Cemetery located on Washington St. in S. Weymouth, 02190.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in honor of William to the Disabled Veterans National Foundation.
