William LeRoy Kendrick, age 86, of West Valley City, Utah passed away peacefully at home on April 29, 2025. LeRoy was born June 9, 1938, to William Richard Kendrick and Melvie Thaxton Kendrick. He married Sharon Magill on June 27, 1958. He is survived by wife, Sharon, children: Sherry Downard, RoyAnn Gregerson (Steve), Steve Kendrick (Jana), Connie Petersen (Darren) and his sister Afton Zaharias. He has 11 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by parents, sister LaVon Belka and grandson Christopher Downard.
LeRoy worked with his father Bill, building many homes and doing remodels. He retired from Kennecott as a lead worker and Acid Plant manager. He was known for his strong work ethic, his sense of humor, and his generous spirit. He was always willing to help his family and friends.
The family would like to thank all the nurses and aides at Serenity Hospice for taking such good care of LeRoy in the past year.
A viewing will be held Sunday, May 4, 2025, from 6:00-8:00pm at McDougal Funeral Home. 4330 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah.
Graveside Services will take place at 11:00am on Monday, May 5, 2025, at Valley View Memorial Park. 4400 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah.
