Obituary published on Legacy.com by Null & Son Funeral Home on Jun. 4, 2025.
William Dean Klemme was born on December 20, 1947, in Salt Lake City, Utah to the late William Henry Klemme, Jr. and Vivan (Dean) Klemme. He grew up in West Valley, UT and attended Granger High School where he played center on the school football team. It was here he was affectionately called "Dinkle Hemmy" by his friends and classmates. He learned the value of hard work when he was young, working at the bowling alley after practice, cutting grass, and doing other odd jobs to help support his family.
In 1967, Dean accepted a call to serve as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Argentina North Mission. He developed a deep love for the country and people, but it was Salta that held a special place in his heart. He spent ten months there, experiencing many life-changing moments. A year after he concluded his missionary service, he was sealed to Aida Dora (Ruiz) Klemme in the Salt Lake City, Utah Temple on June 25, 1970. He returned to Argentina several times throughout his life visiting family, friends, and some of his favorite locations.
In 1976, Dean and Dora relocated their family from Salt Lake City, Utah, to Boise, Idaho where Dean spent more than 25 years working for Conesco of Idaho. It was at Conesco where he developed many strong professional relationships with co-workers and customers. His connections with people are what made him successful. In 1996, he moved with his family to Belle, MO and he spent the remainder of his career working for NuWay until he retired in 2017.
He was a true outdoorsman spending many summers fishing, camping, skiing, scouting, and picking huckleberries in the mountains near Cascade, Idaho. When he wasn't recreating, he was creating beauty around him, planting flowers, tending to his fruit trees, and making sure he had plenty of fresh tomatoes!
In the later years of his life, he committed to being present for as many of his grandchildren's events. Traveling many miles between Idaho, Utah, and Georgia, he enjoyed school lunches, sporting events, concerts, plays, and graduations.
Dean was deeply committed to his relationship with our Heavenly Father and his son, Jesus Christ. He gave countless hours in church callings and responsibilities serving in bishoprics, as a high counselor, elder, minister, young single adult and youth advisor, scouting leader, and primary teacher. He also served as a volunteer at the St. Louis Missouri temple for the past eight years.
Dean was preceded in death by one sister, Joanne (Klemme) Goff; a brother, David R. Klemme; and one grandson, Owen Austin Klemme.
He will be greatly missed by his surviving family which includes: his wife, Aida Dora Klemme of Belle, MO; five children, Brian J. Klemme of Meridian, ID, Adrian K. (Kate) Klemme of Cumming, GA, Lisl T. (Brian) Lange of Owensville, MO, Melysa A. (Chris) Moran of Canton, GA, and Andrew B. (Clare) Klemme of Athens, GA; one sister, Cheryl (Klemme) Forsberg of Salt Lake City, UT; fourteen grandchildren, Brennan (Kaitlyn), Jacob, Ady, Ashton, and Beckett Klemme; London and Henry Klemme; Kaitlyn, Abigail and Trace Lange; Lauren Moran Parker (Nathan), Audrey and Colin Moran; Curtis Klemme, and one great grandchild, Declan Klemme.
