William "Bill" Klosterman

William "Bill" D Klosterman, 84, passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2023, while a resident at Fulton Manor with his loving wife by his side.
Bill was born on May 19, 1939, in Dunksburg, Mo to late Louis Klosterman and the late Jessie Klosterman (Linder).
On August 4, 1961, he was united in marriage to Doris (Durk) Klosterman. She survives his passing.
Bill served his country in the United States Army. He spent forty-five years as a truck driver, ten of which he owned his own trucking company. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, riding horses and motorcycles. He was a member of Richland Baptist Church.
Bill was a character. Someone bigger than life, with a laugh that matched his smile. Bill was someone with whom the farmers at Gasper's laughed and his highway building co-workers traded memories. Many of his trucker friends will remember him as his CB Handle, "Popbottle". He was open and inviting to everyone - a listener. He could break bread with anyone and be comfortable. He was a comforting soul, and no one walked away from Bill feeling worse.
Bill was independent but knew he had a rock in his wife. They were a team. A good team. He was so proud of Jeff and Sheila, Tony and Vicky and the grandkids. Bill had a very caring, soft side. Tough as nails, but a guy that knew when someone needed a kind word to cheer them up or a good ribbing to get them distracted from a problem. He was there. This same gift of understanding what others needed led him to the wisdom to accept God's gift of Grace. This acceptance of his Savior in Christ the King will guide him home to Heaven and the faithfully departed that have gone before him. For all the good Bill did for others, he can now be surrounded in the perfect love of God.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of nearly 62 years; son, Jeff Klosterman (Sheila) of Lawton, OK; Mary Victoria "Vicky" Lee (Tony) of Auxvasse; grandchildren, Kahlil, Sylvan (Zoë) and Katlian Blankenship and Kato Klosterman.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, July 7, 2023, at Maupin Funeral Home with Pastor Nick Drake officiating. The family will receive friends from noon until the time of the service. Interment will be in the Richland Baptist Church Cemetery.
