William Kocher Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Koch Funeral Home - State College on Feb. 17, 2026.
William "Bill" Larson Kocher, 62, of Warriors Mark, passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2026, surrounded by his family.

Born in Bellefonte, Bill was the son of the late William and Judith Kocher. On September 21, 1985, he married Diane (Martin) Kocher, who survives.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three children: Jessica Barnhart and her husband Josh of Duncansville; Billy Kocher and his wife Katie of Pennsylvania Furnace; and Brian Kocher and his partner Robbie Lemberg of Philadelphia. He is also survived by his six grandchildren; Penelope, Ari, and Ada Barnhart; and Peyton, Liam, and Owen Kocher; and by his brother, Bruce Kocher and his wife Cindy of Bellefonte.

Bill was a graduate of State High and earned an associate degree in graphic arts from Williamsport Community College. Following college, he worked at K-B Offset Printing, where he spent the majority of his career. He retired in August 2025, a new chapter that gave him the gift of time to spend where it mattered most, creating lasting memories, especially with his grandchildren, and enjoying his daily walks.

Bill found his greatest joy at the family cabin. He often referred to his children as his best friends. He also treasured his time at the Buckeye Hunting Camp; Once a Buckeye, always a Buckeye. He loved working with his hands and tinkering, especially when it involved helping others. He placed a strong focus on putting others first and was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Bill believed deeply in the value of hard work and providing for his family, and he instilled strong values in his children from an early age.

Bill was such a good friend to have, hardworking, honest, caring, always there to lend a needed hand. We spent many fun times together with friends. One of the those times I was invited to stay at the Buckeye and I remember after a long night I got up in the wee hours and Bill was making his Buckeye home fries and gave me a little lesson and to this day I make them the same way and of course everyone loves them!! I will miss Bill and his kindhearted soft spoken nature. I was lucky to spend a few hours with Bill and Diane at a couple of Steve Focht´s kids weddings recently and so glad we got to catch up. If you needed a good friend Bill was your man.
