William Kruit Obituary
February 14, 1943 - January 5, 2025
William "Bill" Kruit passed away at sues from complications of end stage Parkinson's disease on January 5, 2025. Preceded in death by his beloved wife Marjorie (Rainwater). They bought a home in Schererville, Indiana and lived there for more than 50 years. Bill was born in the Netherlands in 1943 and immigrated to the US, living near Wausau, Wisconsin and later moving to Griffith, Indiana. Parents were Gus and Alice Kruit and he had one older sister, Helen Lettelier. Surviving is his daughter Christine, Son in law Chad Romack and granddaughter Chloe Romack. Bill worked and studied graduating from Purdue University with a bachelor's degree in engineering. He retired from Inland Steel and volunteered his time as a fireman for the town of Schererville. He was a true handy man and could frequently be found helping others with car troubles or home repairs. He and his wife enjoyed times with family and lovingly hosted so many holiday gatherings. He also enjoyed camping at Sandy Pines in MI and traveling with the lifelong friends he and Marjorie met there. Family services will be held at a later date. Bill will be laid to rest at Calumet Park Cemetery. Friends may leave a condolence message for the family at www.joldersma-klein.com.
