William "Will" Joseph Kunder, 45, of Grayson, formerly of New Jersey, peacefully entered eternal rest on February 9, 2026, at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland. Born on March 26, 1980, in
Somers Point, New Jersey, he was the beloved son of William "Bill" Harry and Helen Marie Kunder of Ocean County, New Jersey.
Will was a proud graduate of Pinelands Regional High School, class of 1998; where he played football, track, and was a notable heavyweight wrestler.
His dedication to service was evident during his time in the U.S. Navy from 1999 to 2004, where he served on the aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk in Yokosuka Japan. Followed by a commendable career in the Army Reserves, from which finished his enlistment in 2022. Will honed his skills in ordnance work, dedicating his expertise to the armory, reflecting his commitment to his country.
Beyond his military accomplishments, Will was known for his adventurous spirit. He cherished fishing trips with his father, enjoyed hunting, and had a deep passion for collecting and working on firearms. The beach was his happy place, where he created lasting memories with his family, who meant everything to him.
Will is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Melissa Ann Mortensen Kunder; their four beautiful children, Kale Douglas Kunder, Madison Kara Kunder, Troy William Kunder of Grayson, and Shaneen Skyler Kunder of
Scottsboro, AL; and his devoted brother, Edward (Christy) Kunder of Ocean County, NJ. He leaves behind his cherished nieces and nephew, Ty Kunder, Makenzie Kunder, and Camryn Kunder; his cherished life ; long friends, Vinnie Bunnucci and Tony Lucchin; and a vast circle of friends and extended family who deeply mourn his passing.
