William "Bill" Edward Lassiter, 73, of Lee's Summit, Missouri, passed away on November 17, 2025. He was born on February 28, 1952, in Batesville, Arkansas. Bill spent the majority of his childhood in Wichita, KS, and later moved to Kansas City, where he graduated from North Kansas City High School in 1971. It was in Kansas City that he met his soulmate, Susan Haas, whom he married on May 20, 1972. They were each other's first loves and remained best friends for the rest of his life.

Bill and Susan were blessed with three daughters, Jennifer, Kelly, and Rebecca (Becky). He was Papa to five grandchildren, Olivia, Layla, Luke, Hunter, and step-grandson Emory; and a great-grandson, Xavier. His family was the center of his world, and his love for them was endless.

Bill proudly served his country in the United States Army from June 1975 to June 1978, under the famed 101st Airborne Division as part of the 2nd Squadron, 17th Cavalry Regiment-a chapter of his life for which he remained honored and grateful. After ending his active-duty service, Bill continued serving his country in the Army Reserves for a few years. After leaving the military, Bill worked various other jobs before his employment with General Mills, from 1981 until his retirement in 2014.

Even though we wanted more time, Bill was called home to the family who had been waiting for him. We take comfort knowing he is now free from pain and restored to the best version of himself that we all loved so deeply. Bill, you will be forever loved, forever missed, and forever remembered. You live on in our hearts, in our stories, and in every memory you left us. Until we meet again-rest in peace. We love you.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Alma Lassiter, and his brothers Jim Lassiter and Raymond (Doyle) Lassiter.

He is survived by his wife of over five decades, Susan Lassiter; daughters: Jennifer Lassiter, Kelly Williams, and Becky Lassiter; grandchildren: Olivia Harris (Skylar Cowan), Layla Harris, Luke Williams, Hunter Williams, and Emory Sadler; great grandson Xavier Lee "Edward" Cowan; Siblings: Carol Ballard, Joanne (Gale) Wenzel, Phyllis (Fred) Rutler, and Ronnie (Susan) Lassiter; sister-in-law, Lori Ann Haas; brothers-in-law: Pat Haas and Jerry Haas; and many extended family members and friends who loved him dearly.
