William Joseph Latchford, Jr., 86, of Mill Creek, IN, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, March 23, 2025.
William was born on April 13, 1938, in Staten Island, NY, to William J. and Alice S. (Birmingham) Latchford.
On August 20, 1960, in Buffalo, NY, he married Donna Calderaro who preceded him in death on January 3, 2021. Surviving are his 2 children, Lynn Latchford of Mill Creek and Mark (Kim) Latchford of Valparaiso; grandchildren, James Knapp, Brian (Mallorie) Knapp, Dalton Knapp, Lisa (Dennis) Traub, Nicholas Latchford, Gabrielle Latchford, Dillon Latchford, and Brittany (Taz) Sarthou; 6 great-grandchildren, Peyton, Rylee, Maddox, Ryatt, Tanner, and Vivian; as well as many nieces and nephews in Buffalo, NY.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brother, Raymond Latchford.
William retired on April 30, 2003, as a foreman at Bethlehem Steel. He was a member of PNA 1120 and the American Legion Post 83. William enjoyed golfing, bowling, and watching sports, particularly the Buffalo Bills, which he was a huge fan. He enjoyed collecting sailboats and lighthouses. Most importantly, William loved time with his family.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
A time of visitation will be held from 12 p.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Cremation will take place following the service.
Memorial donations may be made to the Jane Bernard Animal Adoption Center, 2855 West State Road 2, La Porte, IN 46350.
