William Leffert Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Phillips Funeral Home on Mar. 9, 2026.
William Dale Leffert, fondly known to many as Dale, peacefully departed this world on Thursday, March 6, 2026, surrounded by the love and warmth of his family. Born on April 26, 1944, in Macks Creek, Camden County, Missouri, Dale lived a life rich with love, service, and enduring friendships.

Dale was the cherished son of Velma Lee (Waters) Leffert and John Riley Leffert, who preceded him in death, along with his brother, Larry Leffert. He is survived by a loving family who will continue to carry his legacy forward. This includes his devoted partner Ann Imhoff, daughter Tina Marie Leffert and her husband Dale Brown, his son Jay Leffert alongside his wife Kathy Leffert and their son Jacob Leffert and nieces. He also leaves behind Ann's children-Patrick Imhoff, Christina Cassil, Jacquelin McGee, and Jennifer Lehamn-along with their spouses, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His brother, John Leffert and his wife Debbie Leffert, also survives him, holding dear the memories they created together.

Dale shared over 35 years of his life with Ann Imhoff, a partnership built on love, laughter, and the joy of family and friendship. Together, they created a haven of warmth and kindness that touched all who knew them.

A proud graduate of Eldon High School's class of 1962, Dale went on to serve his country with honor in the United States Air Force from 1962-1966. After his military service he attended the University of Missouri. His career as a General Contractor allowed him to build not just homes, but dreams, crafting spaces where countless families could create their own stories.

Dale was a man of community, dedicating his time and energy to several organizations. As President and a Board Member of the Quarterback Club in Columbia, MO, and proud member of the Lions Club in Eldon, MO, he was committed to serving others. He was also a charter member of the Perche Creek Yacht Club, where he formed lifelong friendships over shared passions.

Among Dale's many passions was his dedication to education, demonstrated through his management of Evelyn Maxine Hays scholarship fund for Nursing Students in Miller County. This endeavor was a testament to his belief in the power of education and his desire to give back to his community.

An athlete in his youth, Dale enjoyed being a pitcher in slow-pitch softball and was an enthusiastic supporter of sporting events, particularly when his grandchildren or family member participated. His love for sports mirrored his love for life-active, engaging, and always supportive.

Dale's greatest success was his ability to be present for those in need. His caring nature was the foundation of his relationships, a quality that his family and friends cherished deeply. His presence was a comforting constant, a testament to his genuine kindness and unwavering support.

As we remember Dale-whose lighthearted sense of humor brought joy to those around him-we celebrate a life richly lived and deeply meaningful. His years were marked by love, service, and a lasting influence on everyone fortunate enough to know him. His legacy endures in the hearts of his family and friends, in the home he helped build, and in the community, he cared for so deeply.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 13, 2026 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO with Full Military Honors presented at 4:00 PM. Memorials in his name are suggested to the Evelyn Maxine Haynes Trust.

Arrangements are under the direction and care of Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO.

Dale Leffert was a fun guy to be around. Like his son Jay, Dale was a straight shooter who told you the way it is but you always knew where he was coming from. Dale will be greatly missed. I'm honored I got to know him through the years.
