William "Bill" R. Lewis, 81, of Fond du Lac, died on July 6, 2024 at Froedtert & Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, WI. He was born October 31, 1942 in Fond du Lac, the son of Royal and Irma (Konen) Lewis.
Bill was in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1964-1970. In his professional career, he co-owned Annen Brake Service and then worked at Mid-States Aluminum for many years until his retirement in 2008. In retirement, he enjoyed interacting with everyone around him, at grocery stores, at restaurants, and he especially loved playing games with family and friends. He focused on the humorous side of life, through good times and bad, and brought levity and smiles to everyone around him.

He is further survived by his godsons Kyle Rose (wife Melissa) and Luke Tautges (husband PJ); his brothers Richard (wife Mary), Thomas (partner Maria), and Calvin; step-brother Paul Bredlau (wife Jackie) and step-sisters Juliann Breitzman (husband Joel) and Glenda Mamerow (husband Jim); sister-in-law Julie Lewis and brother-in-law Alan Rose (wife Carol), and many cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by father Royal Lewis, mother Irma Bredlau, stepfather William Bredlau, in-laws Myron and Julie Rose, brother David Lewis, sister-in-law, Sharon Lewis, and step-sister Marlene Presnell.
SERVICES: The public is invited to Holy Family Catholic Church, 271 Fourth Street Way, Fond du Lac, on Thursday, July 11, 2024 for a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at 11:11 a.m. Friends and family can begin arriving an hour before the service to greet the family. Bill will be laid to rest privately in Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to support research at The University of Texas at Austin (https://give.utexas.edu/) or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (https://www.stjude.org/donate/donate-to-st-jude.html?sc_icid=header-btn-donate-now).

Bill has been a constant in my life for what seems like a lifetime. I will miss his sense of humor, his smile, Him!! LIke many, I am fortunate to have a lifetime of memories, of which I'm grateful for. When I think of Bill, I remember having a cup of coffee with a raised doughnut (one of his favs), and a good conversation. The simple things that elevated in my mind because of the company I was keeping...him. You will be missed my friend, never doubt you left your mark on many of our hearts. Always...Sue Strey Golden

I remember Bill to be fun loving and very personable. He and my husband, Jim, enjoyed the fun of ushering at South Shore Chorale Concerts for many years. He will be greatly missed. Karen and his whole family are in my thoughts and prayers.
Peace, love and blessings, Judy Pollard
