William Licht Obituary

William "Bill" Wesley Licht
Pinconning, Michigan
William "Bill" Wesley Licht, a cherished father, partner, brother, and friend, left this world on November 1, 2024, following injuries sustained in a farming accident. Born in Onaway, Michigan, on February 6, 1959, to proud parents Wesley and Della (Saunders) Licht, Bill's robust spirit and infectious energy were evident from his early days.
Bill grew up in the nurturing company of his family, including his sisters Elizabeth Webster, Marilyn (Bill) Dellar, and Mary (Gerald) Danet. He was a source of strength and laughter for his family, and though his sister Dottie Langer preceded him in death, her memory lived on through Bill's stories and the love he carried for her.
Bill was known as a man of many talents. His career as a truck driver with Helm Trucking was a testament to his dedication and hard work. Bill's CB radio handle, "Eagle," was a nod to his sharp eye and soaring spirit, both of which made him a well-respected figure on the roads he traveled.
Bill's adventurous soul was matched by his practical skills. His friends fondly dubbed him "Mr. Fixit" or "MacGyver" for his uncanny ability to repair just about anything. His knack for problem-solving was only one of the many ways he touched the lives of those around him.
A passion for dirt track car racing fueled Bill's competitive spirit. He found joy in the roar of engines and the thrill of the race, sharing this excitement with his children Twyla Licht, Justin Wesley Schmidt, and Summer Roe, whom he loved deeply. His significant other, Annette Clark, stood by his side, sharing in his adventures and his quiet moments alike.
Bill's life was a tapestry of experiences that painted him as a handy, interesting, and adventurous man. He was the embodiment of someone who not only enjoyed life but also enhanced the lives of others. His legacy is carried on not just in memories but also in the practical wisdom and joy he imparted to his family and friends.
Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Lee-Ramsay Pinconning Chapel, at 12 Noon with Ms. Sara Webster presiding with inurnment in Atlanta, Michigan at a later date. Family will be present at the funeral home 11 am until time of services.
