William Robert (Billy Bob) Lonon was called to his eternal home on February 28, 2024.
He was born the third of four children to Carl and Mary Margaret Edmonson Lonon on May 15, 1938 in San
Angelo, TX. He graduated from San Angelo High School in 1957 and attended San Angelo College (SAC). He honorably served in the United States Marine Corps for six years.
On June 5, 1960, he married the love of his life, Laverne Nord.
Bill started his printing career with Taylor Print Shop in San Angelo, TX. In 1964, he moved his family to Irving, TX
where he retired from Deluxe Check Printers Inc. after 30 years.
He and his wife Laverne, retired to Pecan Plantation Country Club in Granbury, TX. He was an avid golfer.
Bill loved the game of golf and has many cherished memories especially as marshal of the Colonial National
Invitational in Fort Worth, TX for 44 years. He was always eager to marshal other tournaments when needed.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing at the family ranch. He loved card games with his family and playing super
train dominoes with his close friends.
Bill was a member of St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church where he served faithfully. He was instituted as an
Acolyte in 2010.
Survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Laverne; daughter, Lorna Hoover and husband Perry of Kennedale, TX;
son, Todd Lonon and wife Sonya of Freeport, FL; daughter, Donna and husband Terry of Grandview, TX; Five
grandchildren, Abby Hoover Day (Brandon), Ryan Hoover, Taylor Burnette (girlfriend, Jazmin), Savannah
Burnette Williams (Justin) and Lacey Lonon; Five great-grandchildren, Camden Day, Bentley Day, Bexley
Williams, Callen Williams, and Baby Williams (due July); brother, Ron Lonon and wife Diane; sister in laws,
Pauline Nord and Sue Nord; and many loving nieces and nephews. He will always be cherished by his family
and many friends.
Preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jerry Lonon; sister, Shirleen Lonon Garber; niece, Rene Vivion.
His devotion to God, his family and friends will truly be missed by all.
Visitation is March 20, 2024 from 6-8pm with the Eulogy reading and a Chaplet of Divine Mercy at 7pm at
Wiley Funeral Home (Wiley Center), 400 Hwy 377 East, Granbury, TX.
Memorial service is March 21, 2024 at 11am at St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church, 2301 Acton Hwy.
Granbury, TX.
The family will be leaving immediately following the memorial service for burial at 5:30pm at Miles Cemetery,
Hwy 67, Miles, TX.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pecan Plantation EMS and/or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
