William Lowell "Bill" Lovins

William Lowell "Bill" Lovins, of Brooks, Kentucky returned to his Heavenly Father on Sunday, June 1, 2025. Mr. Lovins grew up in Somerset, Kentucky where he graduated and married his childhood sweetheart, Eleanor, at the age of 16. He worked at International Harvester and later retired from Greyhound after 20 years as a diesel mechanic to become the owner of Silver Heights Automotive for more than 32 years. Mr. Lovins belonged to the Masonic Lodge #740 for many years. Preceding him in death was his only son, Larry Lovins; brother, Gordon Lovins and his parents, Basil and Mattie Lovins.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 71 years, Eleanor Lovins; daughters, Debbie Knieriem (Glenn) and Kathie Pilato (Vic); 8 grandchildren, Tim Knieriem (Amy), Kevin Knieriem (Mandy), Sarah Clark (Ricky), Christie Blain (Josh), Tonya Bibee (Allen), Alex Pilato (Megan), Amanda Coomer (Scott) and Amy Lovins; 18 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren to be born this summer. Mr. Lovins also leaves behind many friends and relatives who were always a huge part of his life.
Funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with interment in Brookland Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday, June 5, 2025, from 10:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
